The Swiss Triathlon/ITU rules will be applied. Drafting is authorized only for the ITU European Cup.

GENERAL COMMENTS
LicensesThe Sprint Distance races are taken into consideration for the Swiss Triathlon Circuit’s general ranking. For these categories, a license is obligatory. An annual competition license can be bought from Swiss Triathlon. It is also possible to buy a day license when picking up your bib number (CHF 20.-).
Medical CertificateA medical certificate that is less than one month old could be requested by the doctor-in-charge, who has the power to disallow a participant from starting the race should that participant be deemed unfit for the purposes of the race. No appeal will be possible.
InsuranceThe organizer declines all responsibility, particularly in case of an accident or any physical malaise, and for lost or stolen objects. All participants must have personal liability insurance ('Responsabilite Civile') valid in Switzerland. It will be obligatory to sign a release at the bib number pick-up (a PDF version is available here in FR / DE / EN)
SwimmingAll categories:
The rules of the Swiss Triathlon and/or International (ETU/ITU) will be applied without exception, especially in regards to wearing a wetsuit.

Sprint Distance:
Participants have 30 minutes maximum to complete the swim, otherwise they will be disqualified from completing the race.

For safety reasons, warming up within the Bains des Paquis area can only take place in the blocked off areas or areas where swimming is allowed.
CyclingWearing a helmet is obligatory for all categories. Participants have 60 minutes maximum to complete the distance, otherwise they will be disqualified from completing the race.Drafting is prohibited except in the ITU Triathlon European Cup.
RunningParticipants in the Sprint Distance must start the 1th lap of the run no later than 90 minutes maximum after the race start, otherwise they will be disqualified from completing the race.
RulesThe rules of the Swiss Federation / International (ITU) will be applied.
Transition AreaOnly participants will be allowed in the transition area, without exception – i.e. coaches, doctors, friends, and members of the family will not be permitted entry. Anyone participant not abiding by this rule will be disqualified.All participants in the Short Distance must leave the transition area with their belongings after their race.  A special area will be made available to store their bikes that can be collected only by showing the bib number.
ResponsibilityThe organizers assume no responsibility in the case of accident, material damage or personal injury, or in the case of loss or theft.Each individual participant takes part in the Geneva International Triathlon at their own risk.
